WASHINGTON, DC — Marking two weeks since former Attorney General Pam Bondi defied a lawful congressional subpoena, the Not Above the Law coalition’s co-chairs – Lisa Gilbert, Co-President of Public Citizen; Praveen Fernandes, Vice President of the Constitutional Accountability Center; Kelsey Herbert, Campaign Director at MoveOn; and Brett Edkins, Managing Director for Policy and Political Affairs at Stand Up America – issued the following statement:
“Two weeks ago, Pam Bondi defied a lawful congressional subpoena, the latest act of defiance in a pattern of obstruction that defined her tenure as Attorney General. She stonewalled the release of the Epstein files, broke promises to Congress, and turned the Justice Department into a shield for this administration. Chairman Comer has a duty to hold her in contempt, yet he’s refused to act. Congress has both the power and obligation to demand answers, and every week Comer fails to do so sends a clear message: Trump loyalists won’t be held accountable. That’s unacceptable, and it won’t go unnoticed.”
