WASHINGTON, DC — In response to reports that House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer is blocking subpoena votes on the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, the Not Above the Law coalition’s co-chairs – Lisa Gilbert, Co-President of Public Citizen; Praveen Fernandes, Vice President of the Constitutional Accountability Center; Kelsey Herbert, Campaign Director at MoveOn; and Brett Edkins, Managing Director for Policy and Political Affairs at Stand Up America – issued the following statement:
“By blocking subpoena votes on key Epstein witnesses and documents, Chairman Comer is stalling efforts to uncover the truth and shielding Trump’s associates from accountability. The American people deserve answers, and Congress has a responsibility to follow the facts wherever they lead. Mr. Chairman, allow the votes or own the cover-up.”
